Devnya Varovik AD, village of Chernevo, district of Varna is an assignee of the Factory for extraction of limestone, put into operation in 1974. Since 03 August 2000 the company is a joint stock company, in which the majority owners with equal share (50% : 50%) are Solvay Sodi and Devnya Cement. The subject of activity is extraction of limestone fractions with different granulometric composition for the necessities of the soda and cement production and quarry-construction materials. The quarry is given to Devnya Varovik for usage with a state concession contract for 35 years term.
The production activity is organized in the following directions: 1. Extraction of rock mass 2. Crushing and separation 3. Loading and transport 4. Centralized repair services 5. Administrative and auxiliary activities The production cycle with the exception of the drilling-explosive works, the loading and transport of the exploded rock mass, is carried out entirely with specialists and workers of the company with a proven good qualification. The output of rock mass is done in an open mine /quarry/ at 3 levels. There are carried out drilling /network from holes/ and explosive works. The drilling /perforating/ works are carried out to an outside company, the explosive works too. The loading of the rock mass is carried out with two 6-cubic front loaders and 3 hydraulic excavators, the transporting of the same to storage hoppers is carried out through 6 pieces 55-ton and 4 pieces 40-ton tip-lorries. For large-scale crushing are used 2 cone-shaped crushing mills with productivity as per 500 t/hour crushed rock mass with maximum sizes at entrance up to 800 mm and at exit up to 150 mm. The sorting installation is equipped with 4 vibro-sieves and two crushing mills.
